PS: you could also buy a black dial Pure Classic just for this event. At least you have an excuse! You might even try to declare it at the non-profit organisation, it will surely reduce their profits :-)

Wives have to buy new dresses for special events, right? And new dresses mean new shoes, new handbag, etc etc, right? So why not that ultra dressy black dial Pure Classic?

To avoid looking at a watch and to keep it appropriate for other black or white tie functions, you could always get a Pt minute repeater. Just pull the lever and listen to the time whilst appearing engrossed in the speaker pearls of wisdom!

It looks like the VCR Portofino is the winner.

Hand wound Classic: 2

So VCP it is. It was my first choice too.

Late to the debate ... as usual. Nowadays, I always wear a Portofino with black tie.

If I were fortunate enough to own that beauty, it would definitely be my first choice. I have to make do with the homage to it: The VC Portofino.
