Last week I saw a pocketwatch for sale that had the only qualification to be a IWC pocketwatch. A few pictures of mediocre quality were posted, there wasn't even a picture of the caliber. The dial was with Roman numbers ( look for post of MF on his very rare pocketwatch ) , sometimes a sign of an early bird. But what was more striking for me was the little hole in the inner case. It was a key wind pocketwatch... How happy I was that around the same time the Boston Tschopp discussion was being held on this forum. Coincidence ? So I bought it even without knowing for sure it was a correct IWC. Kind of a blind date. So here it is. One happy collector. The serial number on the caliber is 39262. the case has the number 3141 on it. Here a pic next to my very early cal 56.

A very nice watch. A 20 lig. C.25. keywind. With a numbering from the Seeland time. 39'xxx fits the numbering. What is not clear if it was finished after ore before the 2nd Fail of 1879. I don't think it.
An interesting IWC Seeland-caliber watch.
Watches show the time flow, time to watch the watch show.

February seems to be the month of the vintage IWC. I don't recall having seen so many, and so much interest in a long time. And that is good. :)

She has a beautiful face, delicate hands, but no feet. It will be hard to go dancing with her at our next GTG. Enjoy your treasure.
