I remember Alan gave his opinion on the material used in the DFB Big Pilot strap, but I cannot find his conclusion in the archives.
My question is "what is the material"? Is it leather with a pressed in pattern or is it some other man made material? To the touch it almost feels like a canvas hybrid. It is a very comfortable strap. The deployant fits nicely on my wrist as well. For a 46 mm watch it sits well on my wrist.

Smart-looking DFBBP there. Very sharp. Congratulations on your long-awaited capture. Remembering a time, years ago before you fancied the Big Pilot - now you're on your way to building a "BP wing" in your collection.

Mine, at least, is flexible, but not floppy loose. There was no break-in like for a Croc strap. It's a fantastic strap. I suspect, it would go nicely with other IWC's provided the lug size matches.

Me too. If the lug size matches, I would recommend this strap to anyone. It looks great and it fits perfectly. It is fitted with a deployant. There may not be one made for buckle and tang straps.

Bill, are you familiar with the Ingenieur strap? Is it similar to those?
