Hi there,
In a reply to a post from Rave, I told that I would try to setup a live stream from the date change from February 28 to March 1 of a Portuguese Perpetual.
I am glad that I can announce that the preparations are successful so unless something dramatic happens, you will be able to look at a live stream of this special moment this night from about 23:45 to 00:15 Central European Time (CET).
There is one drawback: the stream is only available for iPhone and iPad users and you have to install our free Vinson app. More about that in a followup post.

As I wrote in my previous post, you are able to watch a live stream with the Vinson app for iPhone or iPad. Vinson is a newly launched mobile TV solution for live and video on demand content on smartphone and tablet, with a showcase app available in the App Store. As Vinson is a startup, spun out of the company I work for, I was able to arrange that one of the live channels will be tuned in to a setting with my own watch, so everyone can enjoy this unique PPC date change! And even better, you can rewatch it.
How to: - Download the Vinson app in the App Store http://appstore.com/vinson (it's for free) - Open the TV Guide and look up the Mobile Viewpoint channel - Make sure to tune in around 23:45 CET (GMT+1) by selecting the live program - this will be 'Evening'
Have you missed it? You can time shift back to the moment and look up the moment, up to a day after.

I don't have the requisite equipment to watch the live stream, but I think it is a very considerate thing to arrange for our forum particpants. Thank you, Clemens!
Best regards, Jim

Hi Jim,
In that case, you will be able to enjoy the TimeLapse video I am going to make and post on YouTube. It won't be live but you can look at it any time you want!

Don't worry David. It didn't take too much time to test and setup. I am very lucky to work in an environment where this kind of creativity is stimulated and the fact we just released the Vinson application that makes this very easy to do also helps!

clemens, as fantastic as this is for those of us who have never seen this amazing feat of engineering on a perpetual... i just think i might wait until i can see it for real on my own wrist one day! =P
(but i will probably still sneak a peek on youtube after the fact).

Hmm, live events don't always go as planned. The light from the TL's poses huge problems on contrast and the date change started way before 23:45 too! Good thing there is no audio available or I would have to edit the soundtrack and you would have heard tonnes of BEEEP's ;-)
Kind regards,
Clemens
PS: this is my first February date change experience with the Portuguese Perpetual. The change from 2012 to 2013 was much easier to capture!
