I've heard a rumor from a usually reliable source (that is, a high-up insider) that there will be a strap change for the Ingenieur chronos and Perpetual --rather than nylon, the straps will be in crocodile. I hear that this will present a "classier" look for some very class sports watches. No photos yet; sorry.

Interesting update. Thanks Michael. I gather from what we have seen so far that there is probably a lot of compatibility between some of the pieces anyway so this really ups the choices. When will the wait be over??

Thinking about this some more, as I do, I am wondering if it is going to be a full croc strap or a croc strap inlay on the existing rubber design? Guessing the latter to be similar to the design of the Silberfeil.

I checked, and they should be croc on the outside and rubber on the back.
Also, I believe they're all 22mm and therefore should fit the Mission Earth model.

About to order my first IWC and I'd like à Mission Earth with black croc strap, extra long. My dealer is not so used to handle IWC special orders, so can I ask you experts for an opinion on my choice?

If the new straps are available and do fit then I think the black croc would look fantastic on the ME.
Another forum member previously posted some photos after having one custom made and the result was very good IMHO
