Hi All,
At the end of a long Monday to start the week, I realised that a) I needed a good dram and b) I had my PPC on.
I make a habit of keeping 3 bottles of scotch open at any time to try and mix up the options but tonight I realised I only had 2 open. With 25 bottles to choose from, I didnt know which one to open, so entrusted my decision to the PPC - did anyone else know that the outer dial on the right is not actually the day of month but is actually the "dram dial" - the number on teh dial indicates which bottle you should open.
I looked at the dial, realised the hand was over 11 so proceeded to open the 11 bottle on the shelf and what a cracker is is! A sensational 8 year old from the Bruichladdich distillery bottled at a hefty 66.8 %. Crack the cork, had a smell and get a great rush of smokey brine, with the mind going straight to the ocean! A lovely sea smell that could only be drank with a Portuguese on your wrist!
I exercised some extreme patience and managed to get some photos before I had a drink (this part was very difficult but like most waits well worth it). Here are a couple of pics :

Thanks for the wonderful story and pictures! I also had a few (just three) different bottles opened to as you say 'mix the options' but my problem was that at one moment, they were all empty! I still have to go get a few new ones :-(

Bendy, don't take your PPC off your wrist for pictures, have one or eight drams and leave your watch on the table to never be seen again. Very nice pictures and an even better IWC.

I agree with Dick, I love that ardoise dial! Those are some great photos, Ben!
Best regards, Jim

Excellent shots Ben - I have absolutely nothing against that ardoise dial but I will say that I believe Bill's rose gold/silver faced PPC on the brown strap would look even better with that nice golden Scotch :-)

Excellent pics of your PPC with drink. Is that a home or work collection? LOL

There is just something about that dial, perhaps the color - I forget what the color is called - but it is sublime.

I'm having an iwc and scotch night tonight. There's some Dalmore calling my name in The Ben Nevis bar, if anyone knows Glasgow.
