Last week at the IWC NYC Boutique GTG I picked up a couple of Santoni straps. One for my RG Portugieser and another for my RG PPC. The Santoni strap for the Portugieser is a dark brown, while the PPC's will be the lighter brown version.
Only the darker brown Santoni was in stock. I will be able to switch back and forth as the mood strikes me. The prevailing opinion was the darker Santoni looked better on the Portugieser.
Here are a few quick shots of the transformation. IWC and Santoni created a wonderful partnership. The new strap really enhances the overall beauty and elegance of this watch. I can't be happier.

Wow, great looking combo indeed Bill. The pictures are sublime! A quick question: are the Port Auto and the Port Perpetual the same color gold? In that case, you don't even have to swap the folding clasp when you switch straps between the two watches.

I hope to have the PPC Santoni strap soon.
Bill,
Excellent choice for the 5001. Unique to the Santoni is that each one has it's own character from the grain, shading and final subtle gloss. You could not have got a better grain pattern for that watch. A perfect matchup !
Enjoy that fresh looking Port Auto....it's the "WOW" factor at it's finest.
