BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AMERICAN EXPRESS

IWC Schaffhausen has been a sponsor of the BFI (British Film Institute) and the Official Time Partner of the BFI London Film Festival since 2014. In 2016, IWC and the BFI created the IWC Schaffhausen Filmmaker Bursary Award in association with the BFI. The £50,000 Bursary Award aims to support British filmmakers in the early stages of their careers by giving them the financial stability to focus on their projects. It has established itself as the most significant bursary of its kind in the UK.

For 2021, IWC and the BFI have repurposed the Bursary Award with a strong focus on representation and inclusion. This new scope for the bursary coincides with the efforts of both organisations to further foster representation and inclusion. All films applying for the Bursary Award will have to meet the BFI’s Diversity Standards. With this step, the BFI and IWC Schaffhausen aim to support underrepresented filmmakers and raise awareness of the drive towards greater inclusion in the film industry.
