HOMEMADE PASTA AND CHIANTI WITH A VIEW
For our first stop, we ventured to Florence’s majestic icon, Belmond Villa San Michele. Set atop a hill overlooking Florence, Belmond Villa San Michele is a 15th-century former monastery turned luxury hotel. It offers a captivating blend of history and elegance. The property’s stunning gardens, frescoed ceilings, and impeccable service create an ambiance that is second to none.
The vistas from Villa San Michele are nothing short of magical. Gaze out over Florence’s cityscape, the Arno River, and the rolling Tuscan hills while sipping a glass of local wine on the terrace. It’s the perfect setting for a romantic evening. A glance down at our IWC Portofino Chronograph, and it was time for lunch.
Time to indulge in culinary delights at the hotel's restaurant, La Loggia. Italian food is by far our favourite cuisine, and at La Loggia the combination of exquisite Tuscan dishes and panoramic views creates an unforgettable dining experience. Don’t forget to try their homemade pasta and delicious tiramisu, plus a glass of wine from the Chianti region for a truly delectable experience.
In addition to its rich historical art, Villa San Michele also hosts contemporary art exhibitions and installations. The juxtaposition of modern art within a historic context creates an intriguing dialogue between the past and the present.
The food at Belmond Castello di Casole reflects the essence of Tuscany - a celebration of fresh, local ingredients, time-honored recipes, and a deep connection to the land.
BLOSSOMING MOMENTS
For our second stop, we set off to the countryside, driving through endless green rolling hills. Belmond Castello Di Casole, located in the heart of Tuscany, is a fairy tale castle turned luxury resort. This historic property offers a glimpse into the region’s medieval past while pampering guests with modern comforts and amenities.
The castle’s architecture, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, is a testament to Tuscany’s rich history. Stroll through the cobbled streets, relax by the infinity pool, or book a couple’s spa treatment for a truly romantic experience.
Tuscany is known for its rolling hills, vineyards, and charming villages. However, it’s also famous for its roses. Each year, during the month of May, the Tuscan countryside bursts into a riot of colours as thousands of roses bloom. This natural spectacle is a breath-taking sight and no garden is more beautiful than the rose gardens of Castello Di Casole.
