DISCOVER IWC’S NEW CAMPAIGN FEATURING OUR TWO PILOT’S WATCH PERFORMANCE CHRONOGRAPHS 41 WITH TACHYMETER SCALES DEDICATED TO AMG AND THE MERCEDES-AMG PETRONAS FORMULA ONE™ TEAM
Gear up for the Las Vegas Grand Prix™ with the two new performance chronographs. Dedicated to our motorsport partners Mercedes-AMG and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team, the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 combines chronograph expertise with advanced titanium or Ceratanium®.
Its standout features include a black ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale for measuring average speed, as well as a superbly crafted dial with a polished lacquer base. The lacquer finish undergoes a rigorous production process and the assembly procedure is extremely meticulous—over 20 hand-polished appliques and individually finished totalizers are hand-set and filled with Super-LumiNova®.
Powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 caliber and water-resistant to 10 bar, our performance chronographs are not just race-ready, they are also a miniature work of art.

INTERPLAY BETWEEN MATTE AND POLISHED
“Derived from the iconic look of the IWC Pilot’s Chronograph, we’ve designed highly technical and powerful timepieces that are inspired by motorsports. High-tech materials, machined and finished to the highest precision standards, create an attractive contrast between matte and polished surfaces. This interplay extends across various watch elements. The black dials showcase an exceptional level of craftsmanship and attention to detail, with truly stunning sculptural refinement and finishing.”
— Christian Knoop, Chief Design Officer of IWC Schaffhausen
IT’S IN THE DETAILS

“I am always blown away by the sheer length of time the engineering and design teams commit to each and every detail of the watch. Whether it’s the case finishing, dial layout, bracelet integration or even dial fonts, it’s always a matter of sweating the small stuff—which I love.”

“The partnership between AMG and IWC is unique. It is based on shared values of technical excellence and a passion for performance and design. The bond we have built up over nearly 20 years has been forged through sharing countless exciting moments in motorsports and beyond. Our event at ‘Speed City’ reflects this in a spectacular way and the new Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 AMG is the perfect metaphor. It quite literally stands the test of time.”
— Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH and Head of Business Units Mercedes-Benz G-Class & Mercedes-Maybach
“The two new Performance Chronographs tell stories of precision, passion, and persistence. They remind us of our shared vision of excelling in performance engineering and constant innovation at the highest level. […] It’s a Pilot’s Chronograph through and through, with slightly less of a minimalistic aviation tool feel, and a bit more of a refined high-performance engine on your wrist.”
— Nicolas Lannou, Head of Product Strategy and Heritage
EXQUISITE CRAFTSMANSHIP
“We aimed to match the technicality of motorsport and found inspiration in subdued color codes from performance materials like titanium. The grayish tone is a nod to the long-standing style of AMG cars, while the all-black look of the Ceratanium® edition mirrors the design codes of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team and their 2023 season car livery.”
— Christian Knoop, Chief Design Officer of IWC Schaffhausen
“To be honest, I had to double take. Seeing something aesthetically entirely new took me back. Much like seeing your best friend go for a new radical haircut. Only when I took time to handle the Performance Chrono 41 did I realize there was familiarity there. Key design codes I knew and loved but in a new, modern format. The sizing is perfect (for me at least) at 41 mm. The build quality is obvious in the hand and on the wrist, especially when actuating the chronograph itself. It’s a Pilot, with dialed up tool watch vibes..”
