PORTOFINO AUTOMATIC DAY & NIGHT 34
For the first time ever, the 34-millimeter Portofino features a day & night complication visualizing the passing of time in the most poetic way. At the corresponding time of day, the sun or the moon appears in the upper area of the disc at 6 o’clock. Look closer and you will marvel at the attention to detail paid in the manufacturing of the celestial bodies. The moon is also accompanied by fourteen miniscule stars of various sizes and, together with the Sun, they beautifully harmonize – matching the timepieces’ hands and appliques.
PORTOFINO AUTOMATIC 34
Casual yet elegant, six variations of the Portofino Automatic 34 are offered with new color combinations, colorful calfskin straps and newly developed high-grade five-link stainless steel bracelets with polished and satin-finished surfaces. 34 millimeters in diameter, these models are both easy to wear, and ideal for the slenderer wrists. All models feature a quick-change system to swap straps and bracelets to suit your taste.
SHINE BRIGHT LARGER DIAMONDS
Take pleasure in adorning your wrist with a total of almost 1 carat of brilliant sparkling diamonds! A reengineered case shape now accommodates larger stones of 1.7 millimeters on the references with 34 mm diameter. The refined setting showcases the stones to shine bright… like a diamond.
PORTOFINO AUTOMATIC 37 AND PORTOFINO AUTOMATIC MOON PHASE 37
Who says you can’t ask for the moon? For the first time, a moon phase module has been integrated into the 32000 caliber for all Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 models. Crafted from solid gold, the moon shimmers from the pad-printed blue night sky. All new Portofino 37-millimeter models are powered by the IWC-manufactured movement caliber 32000 with a power reserve of five days.
Thanks to its reduced case diameter of 37 millimeters, the Portofino Automatic 37 is very comfortable to wear. The models feature sapphire glass backs that allow a view onto the IWC-manufacture caliber 32111, and the gold-plated rotor and blued screws add even more refinement to the movement decoration.
The stone-set references are embellished with 60 pure white diamonds that – together with the 12 stones on the dial – add up to 1.12 carats in total. All diamonds are RJC certified and therefore sourced following strict guidelines for ethical, social and environmental practices.
GISELE WEARS THE PORTOFINO CHRONOGRAPH 39
None other than supermodel Gisele Bündchen was one of the first to wear the Portofino Chronograph 39 in her new role as IWC’s first-ever Environmental and Community Projects Advisor. Fitted with a beige strap made of fully traceable Swiss calf leather, the new reference features the IWC manufacture movement 69355, which is visible through the transparent sapphire glass case back.
NEW TRACEABLE CALFSKIN STRAPS
Want to know where exactly your watch’s calfskin strap comes from? We’ve got you covered. Placing great emphasis on transparency and sustainability, IWC as a first in the luxury industry offers straps with a unique code which can be entered in the IWC app to find out all details about the source of the leather. Go ahead and trace your strap here.
Portofino History
First launched in 1984, the Portofino has established itself as one of IWC’s classic product lines. Its versatility allows each model to easily be paired with both casual and elegant outfits. Since 2014, the line has included a midsize collection in 37 mm that wowed with intricate diamond settings and colored leather straps designed by Italian shoe manufacturer Santoni. IWC added an extra feminine touch and launched a distinctive ladies’ collection with a diameter of 34 mm in 2019—a nod to the successful Portofino ladies’ watches from the 1980s.
