The Ingenieur Chronograph Edition “74th Members' Meeting at Goodwood” Story

The Ingenieur Chronograph Edition “74th Members’ Meeting at Goodwood” is a tribute to the 74th edition of the legendary historic motorsport event held near the south coast of England. The most eye-catching feature of this timepiece, which is limited to 74 watches, is the solid red gold case with a diameter of 42 millimetres. With its elegant simplicity, it marks a departure from Gérald Genta’s technical case design previously used for the Ingenieur family and lends the new models a more classic look. The black dial with two totalizers, the small seconds subdial and the tachymeter scale that runs along its edge are based on the dashboard of a high-performance sports car. The attractive brown calfskin strap is reminiscent of the exclusive leather interiors of classic cars.

The Goodwood Members’ Meeting is a historic motorsport event in the south of England. From 1949 to 1966, a total of 71 British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) Members’ Meetings were held on the grounds of Goodwood House. Charles Gordon-Lennox, Earl of March and Kinrara, reintroduced the Members’ Meeting in 2014 to recreate the atmosphere and camaraderie that this historic meeting embodies. IWC Schaffhausen has been the Official Timing Partner of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting since 2015. As part of the partnership, the Schaffhausen watchmakers released the limited special edition Ingenieur Chronograph Edition “74th Members’ Meeting at Goodwood”. In cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Classic, IWC also paid homage to the British lifestyle and the gentleman driver by sending classic Mercedes-Benz cars such as a Silver Arrow W25 and a 300 SL Gullwing “417” to race on the 3.8-kilometre track.

Calibre Family 69000

Movements from the 69000-calibre family are used in all IWC watches that require a precise, robust and high-performance chronograph movement.
