The Big Pilot’s Watch Annual Calendar Edition “150 Years” Story

The Big Pilot’s Watch Annual Calendar Edition “150 Years” is available in a limited edition of 150 watches. It features a stainless steel case, a blue dial with a lacquered finish, and rhodium-plated hands. The IWC-manufactured 52850 calibre’s Pellaton winding system is fitted with virtually wear-free ceramic components and uses two barrels to generate a power reserve of 7 days. The movement and the rotor with an inlaid Jubilee medallion can be viewed through the see-through sapphire-glass back. The timepiece is equipped with an annual calendar; this convenient complication has an American-format display for the month, date and day in three separate windows on the dial, and requires adjustment only once a year at the end of February.

Calibre Family 52000

The twin barrels are the trademark feature of the 52000-calibre family. They supply the watches with sufficient energy for a 7-day power reserve and drive energy-sapping complications like the annual calendar and perpetual calendar.

Annual calendar

The annual calendar is an attractive complication that shows the month, date and day in three separate windows on the dial. This complication automatically takes into account the differing lengths of individual months. It took 5 years to design.
