“To Dare Is To Do" is the motto of Tottenham Hotspur, a professional football club in London, England. They were founded in 1882 and are known for being a club of firsts. In 1960/61, Tottenham Hotspur were the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions in the same season. In 1963, they became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition – the European Cup Winners’ Cup.

In 2018, IWC Schaffhausen became the Official Timing Partner of Tottenham Hotspur. The Premier League football club and the Swiss watch manufacturer share pride in their history and a tireless pursuit of perfection. Both brands successfully combine tradition and a pioneering spirit, and possess a strong, worldwide appeal. In 2019 Tottenham Hotspur will inaugurate its new state-of-the-art stadium with their first home game. It goes without saying that in this arena, IWC will be counting from 0 to 90 minutes with Swiss precision.

Mauricio’s Choices

Appointed in May, 2014, Mauricio Pochettino built his coaching reputation in Spain with RCD Espanyol before making his mark in the Premier League during an 18-month spell with Southampton. Mauricio enjoyed a highly successful playing career, making his debut in 1988 with Argentinian side Newell's Old Boys at the age of 16 and winning the Argentine Primera División with them in 1991. He called time on his playing career in 2006 having won a second Copa del Rey title with Espanyol and achieved 20 international caps with Argentina.

He guided Tottenham to a fifth place finish in the Premier League and a League Cup Final during his first season in charge. He subsequently guided them to a third place finish in 2015-16 - their highest league finish since 1990 - before going one better in 2016-17, with the second place finish representing the club’s best since 1963. A third consecutive top three finish followed in 2017-18 as they secured third place in the Premier League.
