INTERNATIONAL IWC SERVICE GUARANTEE
The following International IWC Service guarantee applies to IWC watches serviced by an authorised IWC service centre and presented for guarantee service in any country.
WHAT OUR SERVICE GUARANTEE COVERS AND FOR HOW LONG
IWC provides a guarantee for defects in spare parts and workmanship for repairs and service work we perform on your watch in the framework of a Restoration or Complete Service for a period of twenty-four (24) months from the date of the return of the watch to you after service and in the framework of any other Service for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of the return of the watch to you after service. IWC will repair or replace any defective spare parts free of charge within a reasonable time after the product is returned to us. You are responsible for transportation costs, including but not limited to postage, insurance and packing materials. Upon expiration of the guarantee period, any repairs will be subject to a service charge.
HOW TO OBTAIN SERVICE
You may obtain service by bringing or sending the watch to your IWC dealer or nearest IWC service centre. For the complete list of IWC dealers, please consult the store locator at www.iwc.com/stores. If you wish to send your timepiece directly to your local service centre, you can request a complimentary pre-paid shipping kit using our Service Price Calculator, for more information see here. Or ask your IWC dealer that originally handled your repair/service (for contact details see service invoice). When submitting your watch under this Service guarantee, you will need to present the original service invoice that you received at the time service was completed.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS SERVICE GUARANTEE
The Service guarantee is not a service contract and does not cover:
(a) defects and damages due to loss, theft or fire;
(b) defects and damages resulting from misuse or negligence, or from accident;
(c) defects and damages caused by improper use (knocks, dents, crushing to the case, crystal, bracelet or strap, etc.), alterations, tampering, dismantling or services and repairs completed by anyone else than an authorized IWC service center, or by the use of components other than those recommended by IWC;
(d) defects and damages due to normal wear and tear;
(e) watches with the serial number removed;
(f) routine maintenance and cleaning.
ADDITIONAL GUARANTEE CONDITIONS APPLICABLE IN AUSTRALIA ONLY:
MANDATORY STATUTORY RIGHTS
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
- to cancel your service contract with us; and
- to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
Subject to your Mandatory Statutory Rights under the Australian Consumer Law, if you make a claim under this Service guarantee, (instead of under your Mandatory Statutory Rights, you are responsible for transportation costs, including but not limited to postage, insurance and packing materials. Upon expiration of the guarantee period, any repairs will be subject to a service charge.
