IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN HOSTS A HOROLOGICAL HERITAGE EXHIBITION OF THE SULTANATE OF OMAN AT MISTAL

IWC Schaffhausen is delighted to host a Horological Heritage Exhibition of the Sultanate of Oman at the luxury watch and jewellery boutique Mistal during the month of November. The announcement of the exhibition comes after the recent unveiling of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Sultanate of Oman” (IW387910) to mark the country’s 51st National Day on 18 November 2021.

Taking over the first floor of the vast Mistal showroom, on showcase will be historical IWC timepieces that belongs to private Omani watch collectors since the 1970s. The exhibition pays homage to the rich heritage of IWC’s long-standing relationship with Oman, one that dates back to nearly a century. In February 1974, current member of IWC’s board of directors, Hannes Pantli visited the country for the first time and had the honour of meeting His late Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Bin Taimour. This was the beginning of a remarkable relationship between IWC Schaffhausen with the nation of Oman.

Since then, Hannes Pantli has regularly visited the Sultanate, and IWC has created special watch sets for the country. Over 40 years later, Hannes Pantli will visit Oman again to inaugurate the special exhibition on 7 November, ahead of the national day celebration. Watch enthusiasts and aficionados in Oman will be able to view the timeless IWC pieces at leisure throughout the month of November, where they can explore the historical mechanics of each piece. Some of the pieces on display will be historical watches with complications along with jewelry and accessories sets. Visitors can also book in appointments to view the exhibition here below.
