CERATANIUM® IS THE NEW BLACK
After pioneering the use of Ceramics and Titanium during the 1980s, IWC’s material engineers have succeeded in combining the unique strengths of these two materials: Ceratanium® is light and robust like titanium and, at the same time, similarly hard and scratch-resistant like ceramic. The case components are machined from a specially formulated Titanium alloy which is forged to IWC’s specifications. After being finished elaborately by hand, they are treated in a kiln at high temperatures. During this process, they obtain their outstanding material properties and striking matte black colour.

THE IWC PROFESSIONAL PILOT’S CHRONOGRAPH COLLECTION: YOU’LL NEVER GET CLOSER TO A JET COCKPIT
IWC Schaffhausen has launched three new chronographs in its Pilot’s Watches collection. The new ceramic models are directly inspired by timepieces that the brand created in the context of its ‚IWC-Military‘ programme in collaboration with some of the most renowned fleet squadrons as well as the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron “Blue Angels®”. The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Editions “Royal Maces”, “Tophatters” and “Blue Angels®” all feature the respective squadron patch on the dial and eye-catching details in the corresponding unit’s colour scheme.

IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN DESIGNS THE INSPIRATION4 CHRONOGRAPHS TO SUPPORT THE WORLD’S FIRST ALL-CIVILIAN MISSION TO ORBIT
To support Inspiration4, the world’s first all-civilian mission to orbit, IWC Schaffhausen has designed and donated a series of unique, space-themed Pilot’s Watch Chronographs representing the mission’s values of Leadership, Hope, Generosity and Prosperity. The watches will be worn by the four crew members on their journey into space, before being auctioned as part of the mission’s aim to raise funds for and promote the life-saving work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.
The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Inspiration4” features a case made of stunning white ceramic. The unique colour results from a complex manufacturing process in which zirconium oxide is mixed with other metallic oxides in a precisely defined ratio. With a Vickers rating second only to that of diamond, engineering ceramic ranks among the hardest substances on the planet. The dark blue lacquered dial has been padprinted with countless stars and captures the depth and darkness of space. It also features the Inspiration4 logo. Inside beats the IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre chronograph movement. On each of the four watches, the titanium case back has been engraved with the name and mission value represented by the respective crew member. The chronographs are fitted with an eyecatching white rubber strap with a leather inlay.

Her most significant achievement to date came at the X Games 2021 in Aspen, Colorado, where she made history as the first rookie woman ever to win three medals. Just two months later, she claimed three more medals at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships.
“I always believed sport has no boundaries. It’s one of the best vehicles to unite people, promote understanding, forge friendships, and create bridges between cultures.
