Biography
Finnish-born Mika Häkkinen was one of the most successful Formula 1 racing drivers of the 1990s. He started in 161 Grand Prix races in the sport’s supreme discipline and won two World Championships during this period. Invariably modest, the “Flying Finn”, as he was affectionately nicknamed, has been an ambassador of the Laureus Sports for Good Foundation for many years. “People need a positive environment to motivate and energize them and to give them power,” he said, referring to his commitment to Laureus. “And sport can give you so much of all that. It can even make you smile.”
