IWC Schaffhausen
IWC Blue Dial Watch: live the dream from the heights of the mountains to the depths of the sea
IWC Schaffhausen was one of the first watchmakers to produce references with blue dials. Since making this design innovation in 1967, IWC has featured blue dials in more than 120 references across its six watch families.
References from IWC featuring blue dials include the Ingenieur Automatic (Ref. 866 AD) and the Yacht Club Automatic (Ref. 811 A/AD), both released in 1967. From that moment onwards, these pieces became a permanent part of the collection. In the 1990s blue dials were only used with platinum cases, like in the 1994 Pilot’s Watch Mark XII (Ref. IW324107) and the 1999 Pilot’s Watch UTC (Ref. IW325103). IWC later expanded its use of blue dials, using them with gold, stainless steel and ceramic cases.
IWC X Blue dials: A look for any dream
The color blue invokes visions of clear skies and calm seas. But it’s also practical: a watch featuring a blue dial can take you from the boardroom to the boat deck, complimenting any style from your wardrobe.
We offer a wide selection of blue-dialed watches to match each one of your tastes – and dreams.
Highlights from the current collection
IWC Portofino: The emblem of the dazzling Italian sea
The IWC Portofino collection reflects the sophisticated understatement of the Italian village it was named after. The Roman numerals of the dial, which features slim feuille hands, make a particularly striking statement on a sea of blue.
IWC Pilot: The sky is the limit
Princes, pilots and your dreams. IWC Pilot’s Watches tell stories of wishes and journeys while honoring our tradition of precision and engineering. The Pilot’s Watch, which introduced the cockpit instrument design code for the classic watch, takes on a new, eye-catching look with a blue dial.
IWC Portugieser: Master of the seas
The IWC Portugieser is our oldest and best-known watch. The elegant, iconic design of the Portugieser arose from a request from two businessmen from the country that gives the watch its name, was ahead of its time. Our Portugieser watches with blue dials continue this style.
