Portugieser History

A tribute to eternity.

With the Portugieser Eternal Calendar, IWC Schaffhausen pushes the boundaries in luxury watchmaking. The company’s first secular perpetual calendar considers the Gregorian calendar’s leap year exceptions by skipping three leap years over 400 years. Its moon phase display will only deviate by one day after 45,361,055 years, an engineering achievement officially recognized as a world record.

Inspired by the flow of time.

With Horizon Blue, Obsidian, Dune and Silver Moon, IWC Schaffhausen has introduced a range of signature colours to its Portugieser collection, inspired by the unique moods during different moments of the day. These dials are manufactured in a complex process comprising 60 individual steps, including applying 15 layers of transparent lacquer to achieve extraordinary visual depth.
