ABOUT THE WATCH
Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Woodland
The Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Woodland features a case made of dark green ceramic. Developed in collaboration with Pantone®, the ceramic color Woodland is inspired by the uniforms and flight suits of naval aviators and the vast forest landscapes these pilots fly over. This Timezoner® model impresses with its striking design. In an elaborate color engineering process, the components such as the dial and the rubber strap with textile inlay were elaborately matched to the color of the ceramic case. The design is completed by black hands, printing, and luminescent material in a subdued green. The case back ring, the crown and the pin buckle are made of Ceratanium®. This IWC-developed material combines the structural integrity of titanium with a hardness and scratch resistance similar to ceramic. The patented Timezoner® function allows the wearer to set the watch to a different time zone by pressing down and turning the rotating bezel. The hour hand, the 24-hour display and the date will move forwards or backwards in one-hour steps. This easy adjustment works even across the dateline and without losing a single second. The city ring is made of green ceramic, while its outer bezel is made of Ceratanium®. It contains the names of 24 major cities, each representing one of the international time zones. The IWC-manufactured 82760 calibre powers this TOP GUN model. The precise and reliable automatic movement uses a Pellaton winding system with ceramic components to reliably build up a power reserve of 60 hours in the mainspring. The movement can be observed through a tinted sapphire glass back.

The names of 24 cities are displayed on the bezel; each one represents one of the international time zones. The bezel is pushed down on opposing sides with the thumb and forefinger. The desired time zone (or, during the daylight saving time, the small “S” just before the city name) is then turned to the “12 o’clock” position. The movement of the bezel is transferred to the hour wheel, 24-hour display and date advance wheel, ensuring that all three displays can be adjusted forwards or backwards in one-hour steps. Drive for the normal movement of the hour hand and its “jump” when the time zone is changed is provided via a differential gear.
