DAVID COULTHARD AND TRAVIS PASTRANA TALK #IWCRACING NEAR THE ARCTIC CIRCLE
We at IWC love a challenge. And we know a thing or two about mechanical and material research. These are two of the many reasons why we have deep-rooted interests and strong partnerships in the world of motorsports.
The annual Race of Champions (ROC) – also known as the “ultimate showdown in motorsports, [where] all hell breaks loose” – thus played out as a fitting event for us to support. Every year, the world’s best drivers from all different types of motorsport classes – including Formula 1 and 2, IndyCar, Le Mans, World Rallycross, and X-Games, to name a few – convene to battle head-to-head, racing in identical cars on parallel tracks. This year, drivers competed on the frozen Baltic Sea at Pite Havsbad in Sweden, just 60 miles from the Arctic Circle.
During ROC SNOW + ICE, we sat down with 13x Formula 1 race winner and IWC friend of the brand, David Coulthard, and NRX Nitro Rallycross winner and 11x X-Games gold medalist, Travis Pastrana, for a quick chat about the weekend that determines the world’s best driver.
