The Goodwood Members’ Meeting is an epic weekend of motor racing founded by the 11th Duke of Richmond, aiming to recreate the atmosphere and camaraderie of the original BARC Members’ Meetings held at Goodwood throughout the 1950s and 1960s. As well as a full program of racing, it features all kinds of cars from classic tin-tops and GTs to open-wheeled Formula 3™ and F1™ machines. IWC Schaffhausen has been the Timing Partner of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting since 2015.
In 2018, IWC Schaffhausen officially launched the IWC Racing Team at the 76th Goodwood Members’ Meeting, becoming the first brand to compete at classic car events with its own team and car. At the wheel of the team’s iconic Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing”, David Coulthard took ninth place in the Salvadori Cup. At the event, IWC Shaffhausen also unveiled a new member of its Ingenieur family: the Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition “76th Members’ Meeting at Goodwood” (Ref. IW381201) in a titanium case. It was fitted with protection against magnetic fields designed in the style of a brake disc and was limited to 176 numbered watches.
In October 2021, the IWC Racing team returned to Goodwood. At the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, Austrian racing driver Laura Kraihamer made her debut, only a few months after joining the IWC Shaffhausen family.
