IWC Polaris Dawn watches auctioned to benefit St. Jude
On September 10, 2024, the Polaris Dawn crew launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on a five-day mission to space. Along for the journey were four IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Editions Polaris Dawn (Ref. IW389111), each engraved with an astronaut’s name. Now back on Earth, these watches were auctioned at Christie’s in New York, with proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Portugieser Eternal Calendar
“Aiguille d’Or” at The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2024
IWC Schaffhausen’s Portugieser Eternal Calendar has been awarded the “Aiguille d’Or” at the 24th Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, also nicknamed the “Oscars®” of the Swiss watch industry. Launched earlier this year, the Portugieser Eternal Calendar is IWC’s first secular perpetual calendar. A newly engineered 400-year gear ensures that the calendar automatically skips three leap years over four centuries. The world-record-breaking moon phase display will only need to be adjusted after 45,361,055 years.
