Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 AMG
Performance aspects such as high robustness, easy readability and maximum precision are deeply rooted in IWC's DNA as a watch manufacturer. With the Pilot's Watch Performance Chronograph, the company presents a chronograph that has been uncompromisingly optimised for performance. This version is dedicated to Mercedes AMG. The performance and sports car subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz has been a partner of IWC since 2004. The 41-millimetre case, the crown and pushers are crafted from grade 5 titanium, an alloy which is around 45 percent lighter than steel and remarkably rigid. The case features a brushed finish with polished details on the horns. An outstanding functional feature of the watch is the ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale, which allows the wearer to measure the average speed in relation to the distance travelled. Matching the polished black ceramic bezel, the model features a black dial with a glossy finish. The recessed totalizers, the hands and the applied indices and numerals in blackened nickel, filled with Super-LumiNova®, provide additional depth and ensure excellent night-time readability. The Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre. This mechanical chronograph movement consists of 242 individual parts and is visible through a tinted sapphire glass case back. Its bi-directional pawl winding system builds up a power reserve of 46 hours in the mainspring. Column-wheel control of the chronograph ensures that individual phases in the switching sequence are clearly defined. There is also a distinct tactile resistance when the buttons are pushed. The chronograph features the IWC-typical vertical subdial arrangement. The stopped minutes are displayed directly at the 12 o’clock position, enhancing readability. The watch is water-resistant to 10 bar and delivered with an integrated titanium bracelet with polished middle links.
