Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41
The Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 is the first titanium model to combine Gérald Genta’s visionary Ingenieur design with Kurt Klaus’s crown-controlled perpetual calendar. The watch features a 41-millimetre case and an integrated bracelet made of Grade 5 titanium, a matte grey dial, and black hands and appliqués filled with luminescent material. Seamlessly integrated into the case via a middle-link attachment, the bracelet ensures exceptional wearing comfort.
Thanks to titanium’s significantly lower weight compared to stainless steel, the watch feels particularly light and comfortable on the wrist. The characteristic bezel is secured to the case ring with five functional screws. The case, bezel, crown guard and bracelet links are sandblasted with subtly polished edges.
The crown is also sandblasted, while the sides of the case and bracelet are satin finished. This sophisticated combination of different finishing techniques accentuates the clean lines and angular geometry of the design. A defining feature of the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 is its dial with the characteristic “grid” pattern consisting of fine lines and squares.
This structure adds depth and texture to the dial. Combined with the matte grey colour, it lends the watch a harmonious and almost monolithic appearance. The subdials displaying the calendar information feature a circular satin finish, while their outer edges are enhanced with a refined azurage.
The moon phase display at 6 o’clock shows a single moon disc set against a finely detailed background. For excellent legibility, the hands and applied indices are filled with Super-LumiNova®. The perpetual calendar displays the date, day, month and moon phase on the dial.
Thanks to a reduction gear with two intermediate wheels, the moon phase display deviates by just one day after 577.5 years. In addition to displaying the day of the week, the subdial at 9 o’clock also incorporates a small leap year indicator that counts down the years until the next leap year. The IWC-manufactured 82600 calibre features a Pellaton winding system with components made of virtually wear-free ceramic, building up a power reserve of 60 hours in the mainspring.
Finished with circular graining, Geneva stripes and blued screws, the movement can be admired through the sapphire glass case back.
