The IWC Collectors’ Forum is a special place to gather and talk IWC watches. Tonny Berteloot oversees the Forum as moderator, keeping the conversations going and making sure everyone feels at home. The Journal talks to Tonny about not only the Forum but how his love of IWC watches came to be.

The beauty of simplicity

“The moment I saw it I thought it was the most beautiful watch I’d ever seen.” That’s how Tonny Berteloot describes the first time he saw an IWC watch. The IWC Collectors’ Forum moderator has been collecting IWCs for almost two decades, which makes him well-known amongst IWC watch enthusiasts. Tonny was attracted to IWC for a simple reason: simplicity.

“You don’t buy an IWC to brag with it, to show off,” Tonny tells the Journal. “For that reason, it is for me a nice watch to have. [...] Sometimes I compare it with a nice pair of English shoes; from the same brand you have different models, but from the moment you put your feet into “the” shoes, they fit and you feel, “That’s the shoe for me”.
