Breathtaking precision, elegance and speed. For over 70 years, the US Navy’s Blue Angels have performed feats of aerobatic bravery in the air to the enjoyment of millions of fans around the world. The new IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Blue Angels®” blends the spirit of this well-loved American institution with the precision of a Pilot’s Watch.
The United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, highlights the beauty of flight each time it takes to the skies. From the iconic blue flight suits to the famous Delta formation, each member of the Blue Angels reflects a tradition of pride and skill in the art of aviation.
Founded in 1946, the Blue Angels team currently consists of 14 officers and 122 enlisted staff, and it’s some of those staff members who helped bring a special IWC Pilot’s Watch to life: The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Blue Angels®”.
The latest addition to the IWC Pilot’s Watch collection was designed in collaboration with Blue Angels members. The blue dial, accented with a white-numeral outer ring and yellow-numeral inner ring, pays homage to the colors this historic group is known for and the design codes of early military observer’s watches. The Chronograph Edition “Blue Angels®” is housed in black ceramic case – with the Blue Angels crest on the reverse – and comes with a blue calfskin strap.
The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph “Blue Angels®” will be available in boutiques as of November 2019.
IWC is not affiliated or endorsed by the Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron or the United States Navy.
