This idea is exemplified by the Ingenieur SL, created by Gérald Genta in the 1970s. The modern Ingenieur merges Genta’s forward-thinking design with engineered ergonomics and meticulously detailed finishing.

Fifty years ago, IWC Schaffhausen introduced the Ingenieur SL, Ref. 1832 – one of the most important integrated-bracelet sports watch designs by Gérald Genta. The Swiss designer’s powerful and pared-down design language continues to shape the modern Ingenieur, which has been comprehensively re-engineered for enhanced ergonomics and elevated finishing. What began in 2023 with the Ingenieur Automatic 40 has since evolved into a complete collection across a range of sizes and materials. This year welcomes the first Ingenieur model featuring a tourbillon.
