Pilot's Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert
The Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert features a meticulously crafted 41-millimeter case made from sand-colored ceramic. The ceramic color “Mojave Desert” is inspired by Navy pilots’ flight suits and the desert landscape around the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, home to some of the Navy’s most skilled pilots. Engineering ceramics undergo a complex and highly sophisticated manufacturing process. It begins with powdered raw materials, which are shaped into a pre-form known as “green body” and then machined closer to the final geometry. The next step involves sintering the case at high temperatures in a kiln. During this heat process, ceramic obtains its unique properties like its extreme hardness and scratch-resistance. The distinctive earthy khaki hue is achieved by blending zirconium oxide with other metallic oxides in a precisely defined mixing ratio. The subdued brown dial features a minute scale and numerals in a muted tone, all coated with Super-LumiNova® to ensure perfect legibility in low light conditions. The Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert is powered by the IWC-manufactured 32112 calibre, a robust and precise automatic movement with a power reserve of 120 hours. It is fitted with a beige rubber strap with a textile inlay and a titanium pin buckle. The case back is crafted from titanium and features an engraving of the iconic “TOP GUN” logo.
