From pioneers to innovators.
Ref. 3705 pioneered the use of black zirconium oxide ceramic for its case. The material was incredibly hard, extremely crack-resistant, and impervious to corrosion.
Tribute to 3705 takes the innovations one step further. The case, chronograph pushers, and pin buckle are made of Ceratanium®. This IWC-developed material is as light and robust as titanium, but at the same time similarly hard and scratch-resistant as ceramic.
A heritage of robust movements.
The chronograph movement is one of the most sought-after and frequently used watch complications. And with good reason — no other complication brings such an air of sporting elegance to a timepiece as a chronograph.
IWC Schaffhausen has a distinctive and storied history with the chronograph watch. The first IWC chronograph, the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 (Ref. 37000), was manufactured in 1980. Since then, IWC has continued this tradition with a number of iconic chronograph watches in its lineup. The latest sensation, the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Tribute to 3705” is no exception.
The return of an icon.
The special edition “Tribute to 3705” is a second chance at an iconic 90s classic.
