Mercedes-AMG
IWC and Mercedes-AMG have been partners since 2004, making their collaboration one of the most long-standing between two brands from the watch and automotive industries. Both companies share a passion for performance and design and a commitment to engineering excellence down to the smallest detail.
AMG was established in 1967 in Grossaspach, Germany, by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher with the visionary concept of incorporating cutting-edge racing technology into road-going series vehicles. Today, it represents the sporting spearhead of Mercedes-Benz with a wide range of models ranging from performance compact cars to true sports cars like the AMG-GT family. Each one of their engines is assembled in Affalterbach, Germany, by a single mechanic according to the “One Man, One Engine” principle. Currently, Mercedes-AMG is pushing the company’s transformation and redefining the future of Driving Performance with electrified powertrains.

Both companies share a passion for performance and design and a commitment to engineering excellence down to the smallest detail. Throughout their partnership, IWC and AMG have shared exhilarating moments in motorsport and beyond and created many lasting memories for their clients. IWC has introduced several special-edition timepieces inspired by performance engineering and featuring materials from automotive engineering such as ceramic, grade 5 titanium or carbon fibre.
In 2021, Mercedes-AMG got its place as a permanent feature of IWC’s Pilot’s Watches collection as IWC introduced the first IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph ever in titanium. The timepiece features a carbon fibre dial and is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre movement. The chronograph was unveiled with a webcast conversation between IWC CEO Christoph Grainger-Herr and Mercedes-AMG CEO Philipp Schiemer.
IWC and Mercedes-AMG both count Maro Engel and David Coulthard as their brand ambassadors.
